Day 65: Pain

The 100 Day Writing Project

Some pain in this world cannot be described.

The scabbed wounds burn your soul,

Scars show up when you didn’t know you had been bruised.

The acrid burning of the soul often leaves no trail.

When the screaming continues but all you can hear is silence,

Betrayal at its best is when it comes from unexpected sources,

And the hurt is so deep, the crater it leaves behind is not even visible.

When words stop having their desired effect on you,

When all connection is lost in the chatter,

When disappointment is labelled as a threat or a pressure point,

You know pain is the only thing which remains.
